MK Dons consolidated their position at the top of the League Two table with a narrow 1-0 win at Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday night.

The home side threatened from the start when Paul Benson's shot clipped the post, while Glen Southam also went close.

Paul Ince's side took the lead after when Dean Lewington's cross was headed home by central defender Drissa Diallo.

The second half saw the home side pile on the pressure and Chris Moore should have levelled but dinked wide with just Willy Gueret to beat, while Jon Nurse headed against the bar from a matter of yards.

Dons threatened sporadically after the interval and could have doubled their tally after Jonathan Boardman brought down Colin Cameron in the area.

Lloyd Dyer stepped up but blasted the stoppage-time penalty against the post.
