Substitute Tom Pope's fourth goal of the season left table-topping Swansea stunned as Crewe fought back to snatch a 2-2 draw at Gresty Road.
A Jason Scotland penalty and an own goal from Gary Roberts had put the Swans in control.
But Julien Baudet netted for the Railwaymen before Pope drilled in from close-range.
Any hopes of an upset looked to be dealt a blow after just nine minutes when Danny Woodards was adjudged to have tripped Andy Robinson inside the box and Scotland stepped up to blast home from the spot.
And five minutes before the break Roberts inadvertently turned the ball past his own keeper.
But full-back Baudet rose to head home Eugen Bopp's 83rd-minute corner as Crewe came to life in the last ten minutes and Pope then turned in Bopp's cutback in the 90th-minute to earn the Railwaymen an unlikely draw.
