Alan Lee grabbed an equaliser as Ipswich rescued a 1-1 draw at Portman Road to deny Sheffield United their first win under Kevin Blackwell.

The home side made a bright start, and David Norris and Velice Sumulikoski both tested Paddy Kenny inside the first 10 minutes.

The Blades, who began the game without a win in their last six league matches, had their first sight of goal in the 19th minute when James Beattie met David Cotterill's cross - but the former England striker headed just wide of the target.

And Beattie went on to put the visitors ahead before half-time when he headed in Michael Tonge's cross from close range.

Tonge almost doubled his side's lead at the start of the second half but Lee sent a superb header past Kenny from 12 yards out in the 54th minute to earn Town, who drop a place to seventh, a point.
