Doncaster dropped more valuable points in their pursuit of automatic promotion as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to Oldham.

Paul Heffernan fired Rovers into a deserved 37th-minute lead at the Keepmoat Stadium on Monday with his first goal in six games but the home side were unable to hold on.

Substitute Jason Jarrett hit back on 52 minutes to deny Doncaster their fifth successive home victory.

The result was about right on the balance of play, although Rovers were unlucky when substitute James Hayter headed against the post seven minutes from time.
