Aberdeen moved within two points of Dundee United in the SPL after Karim Touzani's first goal for the club helped them to a 2-1 Pittodrie win.

Aberdeen had failed to test United goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska at all during the opening half-hour, yet through their first shot on target, the Dons took the lead.

Zaluska could only parry a powerful half-volley by Derek Young and Richard Foster was instantly on to the rebound to dispatch a right-footed shot low into the net.

Jamie Langfield pulled off a fine stop to deny Lee Wilkie a quick equaliser and it proved crucial as the Dons went 2-0 ahead three minutes after the interval when a well-flighted corner from Jeffrey de Visscher was headed down and into the net by Touzani.

A terrific run and shot by Danny Swanson almost immediately after handed United a lifeline but the Dons held on.
