Morecambe earned a 1-1 draw at Wycombe courtesy of David Artell's second-half strike, which cancelled out Lewwis Spence's opener for the hosts.

Following a quiet start, visiting goalkeeper Barry Roche was called into action when Chris Zebroski fired in a vicious effort from just outside the area.

The hosts got their opener in the 34th minute when Spence fired home from the edge of the area.

Gavin Grant looked to have doubled Wycombe's lead but Roche was able to tip his effort from 20 yards around the post.

Morecambe pulled level in the 66th minute as Artell found the net from close range.

But the rivals were forced to settle for an opening-day point as they cancelled each other out in the closing stages.
