A thunderous long-range strike from Alex Rhodes ensured Rotherham took all three points in the 1-0 home win over Luton on Saturday afternoon.

Both sides conspired to miss a string of chances before Rhodes netted the decisive goal on the hour-mark.

Luton's best chance fell to Michael Spillane in the opening period, but he was unable to hit the target with his header.

In the second half Rotherham's Nick Fenton missed a similar opportunity, before Rhodes broke the deadlock in style, cracking a stunning 35-yard strike past Dean Brill in the visitors' goal.
