Blackpool extended their unbeaten run in the Championship to six games after beating Derby 3-2 at home in a thrilling five-goal encounter.

The home side took a deserved lead on 35 minutes as Alan Gow knocked the ball past Dean Leacock and fired past Stephen Bywater.

The lead was doubled two minutes before the break when Gary Taylor-Fletcher took advantage of more poor defending to find himself free in the area and volley home Keith Southern's cross.

With 58 minutes gone Derby found a lifeline when Kris Commons scored a brilliant free-kick from 25 yards.

However, seven minutes later Southern's cross was bundled in by Ben Burgess.

Derby were gifted a goal with 13 minutes to play when Paul Rachubka rushed out of his goal but missed the ball when he attempted to clear and Mile Sterjovski was left with an open net.
