Arsenal failed to lift the gloom as wasteful finishing ensured they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Fenerbahce in the Champions League.
The Gunners barely needed a strong constitution as they toyed with the Turks' defence in a one-sided first half.
But yet again their accuracy in front of goal lacked the precision of their approach play with Robin van Persie the most wasteful, with the Dutchman hitting the bar just before half-time
Impressive Fenerbahce goalkeeper Volkan Demirel also played a crucial role in keeping Arsenal at bay but his heroics will be of scant consolation to Arsene Wenger.
Sami Nasri came close after the break, while more wasteful van Persie finishing frustrated the home faithful when he nodded over.
Ugur Boral's low shot could have won it for Fenerbahce but Lukasz Fabianski did well to push it wide of the post.
