Macclesfield's final pre-season friendly at the Moss Rose Stadium ended in a 3-0 defeat to League One outfit Huddersfield on Tuesday night.

The Terriers opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Antony Kay lobbed a great ball over the home defence for Anthony Pilkington to fire home.

It was 2-0 after 26 minutes as Michael Collins smashed an effort into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area.

And it was left for Robbie Simpson to round off an enjoyable night for the visitors with a powerful penalty off the underside of the crossbar shortly before full-time.
