Keith Treacy's stunning strike gave Sheffield United a share of the spoils in a pulsating 1-1 draw against Leicester City at Bramall Lane.

United almost took the lead midway through the first half when Nick Montgomery's deflected effort looped on to the bar and Matt Kilgallon fired the rebound over.

City's Nicky Adams then fired over from 20 yards.

Early in the second half Jamie Ward's volley from 20 yards was well turned away by Chris Teale.

Leicester took the lead on 52 minutes when Matt Oakley's 30-yard free-kick struck Matty Fryatt on the leg, wrong-footing Mark Bunn and rolling into the net.

But Treacy unleashed an unstoppable effort from 25 yards that rocketed into the top corner on 66 minutes.

Stephen Quinn then had a curling free-kick tipped over by Weale and an audacious 30-yard volley went wide for United.
