Morecambe moved into the League Two play-off spots with a fine 2-0 home win over promotion rivals Rotherham at Christie Park on Saturday.

Two goals in two minutes in the second half gave the Shrimps a victory which moved them up to seventh in the table.

Phil Jevons gave the home side the lead after 57 minutes when he bundled home a Mark Duffy cross from close range.

Simon Hackney made it 2-0 two minutes later when Stewart Drummond put a fine ball into the area and the on-loan winger produced the perfect header to beat Andy Warrington low to his left.

Rotherham hit back with Adam Le Fondre forcing Barry Roche into three saves and Marcus Marshall heading straight at the Morecambe keeper when he should have scored.
