Notts County secured the League Two title following a convincing 5-0 win over relegated Darlington at the Darlington Arena on Tuesday evening.

The Magpies took the lead in the 33rd minute when Delroy Facey found Johnnie Jackson 12 yards out and his tame shot somehow went in under Darlington goalkeeper Nick Liversedge.

Craig Westcarr should have doubled the lead two minutes later when he raced clear and chipped Liversedge but saw his effort clear the Darlington bar. Kasper Schmeichel had earlier pulled off a finger-tip save to keep out a Gary Dempsey effort in the 12th minute.

After the break County tore Darlington apart. In the 70th minute defender Mike Edwards bicycle kicked the ball past Liversedge from eight yards out and four minutes later Westcarr beat Andrew Milne and then rounded the keeper before firing into the empty goal.

In the 78th minute substitute Luke Rodgers volleyed in County's fourth from 12 yards and then a cross from Westcarr into the area and a close-range back-heel from Rodgers in the 81st minute added to Darlington's despair.
