Barnsley look in good shape for the new campaign after demolishing Scunthorpe 5-0 in their pre-season friendly at Glanford Park.

The damage was done in the first half as Keith Hill's side cut their hosts to shreds, scoring all five of their goals before half-time.

Trialist Ricardo Vaz Te did his chances of a permanent deal no harm as he opened the scoring while Craig Davies (two), Kyel Reid and Nathan Doyle also added goals as the Tykes ran riot.

Scunthorpe did improve after the break but were unable to score, and the Tykes left North Lincolnshire with the easiest of victories.
