Aidy Boothroyd picked up his first win as Northampton boss with a battling 2-1 victory over Morecambe in League Two.
Cobblers' midfielder John Johnson broke the deadlock on 22 minutes when he beat his man to head a Michael Jacobs corner past Barry Roche from close range, despite the Morecambe goalkeeper claiming he had been impeded.
On-loan striker Akwasi Asante then doubled the advantage in the 52nd minute with a long-range strike that beat Roche low to his right.
The Shrimps then piled on the pressure with Kevin Ellison pulling a goal back nine minutes before the end, converting a fine Laurence Wilson cross.
The home side then peppered the Northampton goal, with Danny Carlton missing two fine chances and Gary McDonald and Lewis Alessandra both going close, but the visitors clung on for a first win since October.
