Manager Karl Robinson believes bringing Alan Smith to MK Dons represents the greatest signing in the club's history.
The Dons have arguably pulled off the most surprising capture of the January transfer window, signing 31-year-old Smith on a loan deal from Newcastle until the end of the season.
"I'd say it was (the biggest signing) for obvious reasons," said Robinson at Monday's press conference to unveil Smith as a Dons player.
"We brought Didi Hamann in last year, but he hadn't kicked a ball in two years.
"Alan is still young and he hasn't come here to see out the last days of his career - he still has seven or eight years left. He is hungry for success and that is a testament to him, coming to League One."
