Morecambe boss Jim Bentley was left frustrated as his side played out an entertaining goalless draw against Port Vale.
The home side enjoyed the greater share of the possession and went close on several occasions to opening the scoring but were forced to settle for a point at the Globe Arena.
And the Shrimps manager felt his side should have ended the afternoon with all three points after putting on a good display.
"I thought we played some great stuff but the only thing that was missing was a goal," he said. "We got into some excellent positions and caused them a lot of problems but just couldn't find the goal I think we deserved.
"I'm disappointed that we didn't get the three points but at the same time I'm really happy with the performance. I thought Jack Redshaw was excellent and is getting used to life in the Football League now while Izak Reid produced some really dangerous crosses.
"We are playing a new system at the moment but it seems to be suiting us. We looked good going forward and really solid defensively against a very good Port Vale attack and I am pretty pleased overall."
