Versatile ace to ink two-year deal

Sky Sports understands West Brom defender Steven Reid is poised to sign a new two-year deal to keep him at The Hawthorns.

West Brom revealed earlier this month they were in talks with Reid over a new contract and it appears those discussions have proved fruitful.

Reid, who is currently out sidelined for the rest of the season with a foot injury, sees his current deal expire in the summer, but West Brom are determined to keep the former Blackburn man.

West Brom are understood to have fended off interest from the likes of Queens Park Rangers, Reading and Celtic to persuade Reid to agree a new contract.

The 31-year-old has established himself as a key player for the Baggies since arriving from Blackburn in the summer of 2010 and keeping him at the club for the next two seasons will provide the side with a massive boost.
