Police have arrested a man on suspicion of making a racist gesture during Chelsea's Capital One Cup game against Manchester United.
The 28-year-old was taken to a west London police station on Monday by officers investigating a racially-aggravated public order offence.
A photograph published in the national press allegedly showed the Chelsea supporter making a monkey gesture at United forward Danny Welbeck.
And a Metropolitan Police statement read: "He was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated Section 4a Public Order Act offence and currently remains in custody. Inquiries continue."
