Holland coach Bert van Marwijk has criticised Bayern Munich over star winger Arjen Robben's latest injury.

Oranje coach loses patience with German club

Holland coach Bert van Marwijk has criticised Bayern Munich over star winger Arjen Robben's latest injury.

Robben, who has been sidelined for the past month, met up with the Oranje squad for their final Euro 2012 qualifiers against Moldova and Sweden but pulled out earlier this week and underwent an operation on his pubic bone on Friday.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge claimed the Dutch football association - the KNVB - had been "very sensitive" in sending Robben back to Germany for surgery.

Van Marwijk's side edged past Moldova 1-0 in Rotterdam on Friday night to seal top spot in Group E, but the coach could not hide his anger after the match at Bayern's perceived suggestion that the 27-year-old was fine when he left Munich for international duty.

"I'm a little fed up with it," Van Marwijk said on the Holland team's official website.

"Bayern Munich have had him doing long warm-ups during matches and even playing for a few minutes.

Advice

"He was sent to Oranje with the advice to walk through the pain.

"Our doctor then examined Arjen in Holland and noticed the inguinal hernia. He was then also examined by a renowned radiologist, who found the same.

"We then returned him to Munich and he underwent surgery there. According to Bayern, the injury became worse after he was with us - as if he were here when the hernia problem occurred.

"Last year, they even blamed us for Arjen's injury. I've had it.

"I say this on a personal level - even if it costs my job."

Holland and Bayern are scheduled to go head to head in an exhibition game next May which was set up to restore the relationship between the two after Robben's lengthy absence following last year's World Cup finals.

But Van Marwijk said: "If I can help it, we will not play that game. I cannot see much point in it."
