Italy coach hopeful of Balotelli going on the mend
Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has echoed Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini's words that Mario Balotelli can become one of the top three players in the world should he change his attitude.
Balotelli scored twice in the 6-1 defeat of Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend that saw City go five points clear at the top of the Premier League table after nine matches.
The 21-year-old's performance also prompted Mancini to claim that he could become one of the best three players in the world.
Prandelli, who is likely to name Balotelli in his squad for the Euro 2012 finals next summer, fosters the same belief and is hopeful that the former Inter Milan striker will continue to pay more "attention" on the pitch than off it.
"Mancini's words are important," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"He said that should he (Balotelli) continue in this way, with the right concentration and attention, he could become one of the best three footballers in the world.
"And I can be only happy about this."
