Italian striker earns praise from his compatriots

Inter Milan coach Claudio Ranieri has revealed that he would be interested to coach Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli one day in the future.

Balotelli is rated as one of the most promising young players in Europe and has been in impressive form so far this season.

The 21-year-old scored twice in City's comprehensive 6-1 victory over city rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League in October and found the target for Italy in the Azzurri's 2-0 away victory over Poland on Friday.

The former Inter striker's goal at Stadion Miejski was his first for his nation and he was involved too in his team's second in Wroclaw, leading Ranieri to heap praise on the player who left the Nerazzurri for City in the summer of 2010.

"I would welcome Balotelli with open arms," Ranieri said in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.

"He is a formidable talent.

"I have not spoken to the players in the changing room to understand if there is any aversion with regards to him.

"He can become one of the best players in the world but it's all down to him."

Mature

Meanwhile, former AC Milan and Chelsea tactician Carlo Ancelotti underlined the work of City manager Roberto Mancini in Balotelli's maturity,

"Balotelli has matured," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "Now on the pitch he shows seriousness and gives an added value to the national team.

"Mario has found the right path thanks to Mancini."
