Vicente del Bosque believes Spain's game with England provides an ideal chance to test his squad ahead of Euro 2012.

Spain's first team coach describes England as a great team

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque believes their friendly with England provides an ideal opportunity to test his squad ahead of Euro 2012.

The world and European champions have named a strong and experienced squad to take on Fabio Capello's side at Wembley on Saturday.

Andres Iniesta is back in the squad after overcoming a hamstring injury, while Cesc Fabregas returns to London after his summer transfer from Arsenal to Barcelona.

Spain secured their place at next year's tournament with a 100 per cent record in the qualification stages, scoring an average of just over three goals per game.

Likewise, England completed their qualification unbeaten, winning five of their eight fixtures in the group stages.

They have included two uncapped players in their squad, Jack Rodwell and Daniel Sturridge, and face Sweden four days later.

Del Bosque, who took charge shortly after the end of Euro 2008, believes his side will be up against a strong side at Wembley.

Three more games

He told the Spanish Federation's official website: "Before submitting the squad list for the Euros we have only three (more) games.

"There will be some games to come after the squad get together, but we have to make the most of these matches.

"England are a great team, and we will be playing in an extraordinary stadium - Wembley.

"We tailor these games to be the best they can be for the team and for the federation. We have played five matches since the summer and no player has played 90 minutes in all of them, so I don't think that has come as a shock to their clubs."

Del Bosque has decided to demote Barcelona youngster Thiago Alcantara back to the U21 squad but insists his time will come.

He said: "Thiago is a player that has the respect of everyone. I have spoken with him personally, we thought that this time he needed to go with the under-21s. We are very confident in his ability despite the competition for places in the senior team."
