Spain striker David Villa hit the post with a left-footed volley before Cesc Fabregas spurned a glorious chance in the dying minutes, dragging his shot wide when he should have scored.
Del Bosque said: "I'm a bit disappointed and almost angry that we didn't win the game.
Positives
"But I can take lots of positives.
"We took the initiative, we held the initiative, we didn't let England get out of their half. We just missed that skilful defining moment.
"England carried out the manager's orders to the absolute letter.
"The tactical plan was carried out perfectly, but our style of football is totally different."I'm a bit disappointed and almost angry that we didn't win the game. But I can take lots of positives.
