Laurent Blanc has refuted reports suggesting there is an option in his contract for a two-year extension to be taken up.

France coach claims no deal in place to take him through to 2014

Laurent Blanc has refuted reports suggesting there is an option in his contract for a two-year extension to be taken up.

Blanc inherited the reins of the France national side in the wake of a disastrous showing at the 2010 World Cup.

He has helped to steady the ship since then and has guided Les Bleus to Euro 2012 qualification.

The future is looking increasingly bright for French football and Blanc has played a leading role in the reversal in fortune.

He will, however, see his current contract expire after next summer's European Championship and he is yet to pen fresh terms.

Clauses

It was claimed that he had the option to stay on until 2014 should he wish to do so, but the World Cup winner insists that is not the case.

"My future? First I must say that, contrary to rumours, I have no option to stay on for two additional years," he told L'Equipe.

"I signed a two-year contract without any clauses and there are no guarantees.

"I would like to stay on and if I am to stay, I would like to have signed everything before the Euros."
