Portugal battled to a 1-0 victory over Norway to move level on points at the top of Group H.

Norway started the day three points clear of Portugal and Denmark and looked on course to strengthen their position after a goalless first half.

However, Helder Postiga struck in the 53rd minute to seal a vital win for Portugal.

Denmark also stayed in the hunt for qualification with a 2-0 victory over Iceland in Reykjavik.

Iceland, bidding for a first victory over their Nordic rivals, pressed hard either side of half-time but substitute Lasse Schone put the visitors in front against the run of play in the 60th minute.

Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen then notched his first international goal to take Denmark on to ten points, the same as Portugal and Norway.
