Three Lions to play in opening game of new national stadium

England look set to be the first opponents for Sweden at their new national stadium when it opens next year.

The Swedish FA are in talks with their English counterparts about a friendly in November 2012 as part of the agreement that sees the countries meet at Wembley on Tuesday.

England played the first game in Sweden's current national stadium, the Rasunda, in May 1937.

Sweden's final game there is set to be next August against Brazil, who won the World Cup on the ground in 1958.

The new 50,000 capacity Swedbank Arena is set to be completed next year.

A spokesman said: "Nothing has been confirmed but we hope to agree a date for England to be our first opponents at the new national stadium in Stockholm."
