Turkey have confirmed the departure of coach

Turkey have confirmed that they have parted company with their coach Guus Hiddink.

The Turks failed to qualify for the Euro 2012 finals on Tuesday after they lost on aggregate to Croatia.

Turkey always looked likely to be up against it after going down 3-0 in the first leg and they indeed failed to make any inroads in the return clash.

Hiddink revealed after the match that he was considering his options and intimated that he could be tempted by a return to England where he previously had success during a caretaker spell with Chelsea.

Now he is free to explore his options after the Turkey Football Federation confirmed it had agreed to his departure.

"As a result of the negotiations, Hiddink has a mutual agreement to dissolve his contract," said the TFF statement.

"We would like to thank Mr Guus Hiddink for his time in office."
