Luton Town manager Gary Brabin has revealed that he had a second transfer target in mind on deadline day but decided against a last-minute bid.

The Hatters signed Andre Boucard from York City in a £25,000 deal on the last day of the transfer window.

Brabin admitted he had another player on his wishlist, but opted to limit his transfer activity to the signing of the Trinidad and Tobago international.

"There was another transfer that we were hoping for but we decided against it," Brabin told Bedfordshire News.

"He was our only other target but it's not fair to his club to name him."

Meanwhile, the Luton boss is delighted to have secured the services of Boucard.

He added: "We've worked hard on signing Andre Boucard for a week now, and even longer than that when you consider how long he's been on our radar. He's a player I've admired for a while and I'm delighted we've got him.

"We always said that if Boucard was our only signing then we'd be delighted. He was always our main target. He was the only one we've really pursued."
