Nigel Adkins is 4/6 to be the first Premier League manager to lose or leave his post after a flood of money for him to take over at Blackpool.

Saints boss Adkins, who was 5/4, to be the first boss for the chop has been backed into 11/8 from 66/1 to take the reins at Blackpool.

Bet Victor spokesman Charlie McCann said: "It has been one of the craziest mornings of football manager betting that I can remember. How can Adkins be 11/8 for Blackpool?

"We have had a book on who will be the next Saints' boss, irrespective of timescale, for over a month and make Paulo Di Canio 4/5 favourite having been 33/1 when we opened the market on the October 2."
