Thomas Lemar wants to swap Monaco for Arsenal before the end of the transfer window, according to reports in France.
The Gunners have been linked with the France international all summer and have reportedly had three bids rejected with the most recent being a £50million offer.
L’Equipe claims that Monaco are looking to strengthen their attack which could mean there is still hope that Arsene Wenger can take Lemar to the Emirates Stadium.
The report continues by saying that the 21-year-old wants a move to Arsenal this summer with Monaco currently in talks with free agent Rachid Ghezzal.
Ghezzal, who was released by Lyon at the end of the last campaign, is also wanted by AC Milan and Nice but a move to Monaco could help Arsenal land Lemar.
Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac have joined the Gunners already this summer and Wenger is still looking to reinforce his squad if possible.
“The difficulty is to bring top-level players in because you pay a huge amount of money for very normal players at the moment,” Wenger told Arsenal’s official website. “As well, all the big clubs are chasing the same players and that provokes huge inflation.
“There’s the usual acceleration in the final part of August.
“But I think you have always to be on alert every day, because a good opportunity might turn up.”
