St Johnstone are hopeful of having Cillian Sheridan in the squad.

Saints are awaiting clearance for the striker, who has joined on loan from CSKA Sofia.

Goalkeeper Alan Mannus will be added to the squad after completing his move to the Perth club following his departure from Shamrock Rovers.

Kari Arnason could come into the Aberdeen squad after completing his move.

Arnason has played some pre-season games for the Dons and Craig Brown was assessing his fitness before making a decision.

Jamie Langfield is still recovering from illness, Chris Clark is injured and Joe Shaughnessy is away with the Republic of Ireland youths but Brown otherwise has a full squad.

Graham Gartland has had a hernia operation and is out for the rest of season, as is Jody Morris with a back injury.

Collin Samuel (hip) is out while Danny Grainger (groin) and Murray Davidson (hip) are doubts.

Chris Maguire and Scott Vernon will both be fit for Aberdeen after shaking off midweek injury concerns.

Fellow forward Andrius Velicka returns after his loan agreement prevented him from facing Rangers, while Andrew Considine is pushing for a recall following a knee injury.

Fraser Fyvie and Darren Mackie remain out with long-term knee injuries while Nikola Vujadinovic (hamstring) and Peter Pawlett (toe) are also expected to miss out again.

St Johnstone have a number of injury concerns. Steven Anderson (heel), Chris Millar (groin), Dave Mackay (thigh) and Liam Craig (calf) are all doubtful.

Graeme Smith, Kevin Moon, Graham Gartland and Martin Hardie remain on the sidelines.
