AC Milan’s Suso does not fancy transfer back to Liverpool

AC Milan star Suso has ended any hope Liverpool and Tottenham had of signing him this summer.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder left Liverpool for Milan on a free transfer in January 2015 after an unsuccessful spell at Anfield.

Suso made just 21 first-team appearances for Liverpool, scoring once, but his stature has grown in Serie A and he has become an integral part of Gennaro Gattuso’s side.

He has scored eight goals and created 14 in 48 appearances this season and that has led to links with Liverpool and Tottenham.

Last month Marca claimed Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool’s management had already held talks about triggering the player’s exit fee and bringing him back to Merseyside.

That release clause stands at €40million with the player under contract until 2022, but Suso has declared his happiness in Milan and has no intentions of leaving.

Suso told Tuttosport: “I have always said that I am very well here, that I found myself very well and that there is nothing that can make me think I have to leave.”

“The team and if the company wants to grow with me, I will be happy because now Milan is my home.

“We do not have to start over from scratch again. There is finally a base on which to add new elements, Gattuso knows what should be right and we’ll start from that point.”
