The agent of Juventus striker Simone Zaza has denied claims his client almost joined Crystal Palace in January.
The striker only moved to Juventus in the summer but he was linked with a move away in the most recent transfer window after a lack of action.
Crystal Palace and other Premier League clubs were reportedly chasing Zaza, although Palace eventually opted to bring in Emmanuel Adebayor on a free transfer.
And Zaza’s agent, Christian Maifredi, has denied rumours that Palace were keen to sign the Italian.
“When a striker does well, it is obvious that he is sought after, but currently he is at the best team in Italy and one of the most important in Europe,” Maifredi told Tutto Mercato.
“It is a great place to be and he wants to finish the season in the best way.
“Crystal Palace? It is not totally true, but there were some important expressions of esteem in the player.”
