Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s agent Minoa Raiola says it would be a ‘sin’ to stop attempts at getting the Borussia Dortmund star a move to Manchester United.
The Armenian international has been heavily linked with a move to United over the last couple of weeks, with Dortmund steadfastly refusing to sell the 27-year-old, with both Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan recently leaving and amid claims Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be heading to Manchester City.
But Raiola, speaking to the BBC , says he remains hopeful he can help push the move to Old Trafford through.
“It would be a sin to stop talking,”he said.
“I am a positive guy. If I wasn’t confident of reaching some kind of conclusion, I wouldn’t try.
“I am very proud Manchester United want him and the talks are being held in a good atmosphere, but at the moment Dortmund are still saying no.”
Mkhitarayn joined the Bundesliga club in 2013 from Shakhtar Donestk for a reported fee of £20million and over the course of three seasons the Armenian’s star has continued to rise and last season he scored 18 goals and notched an impressive 20 assists.
His performances as of late have now attracted interest from a whole host of clubs, including the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.
The attacking midfielder only has one year left on his current deal with Dortmund and has elected to not a sign an extension, but instead preferring a move to Manchester ahead of North London, with Raiola working hard to make the deal happen.
Manchester United’s new boss Jose Mourinho is still looking to revamp his squad over the summer and has wrapped up a deal for Villarreal’s Eric Bailly, while a deal for Zlatan Ibrahimovic also looks imminent.
