New Everton boss Sam Allardyce has already lined up two new signings as he aims to improve his squad in January.
According to the Daily Mirror, Big Sam has shortlisted Sevilla midfielder Steven Nzonzi as one of his priority signings.
Allardyce is a keen admirer of Nzonzi having signed him for Blackburn back in 2009, and the report claims he even looked at trying to get him in the England squad on residency grounds.
The uncapped Frenchman is reportedly looking to leave Sevilla, having joined from Stoke for £7million two-and-a-half years ago.
Manchester City and Juventus were linked with a move for Nzonzi, with Sevilla apparently willing to sell for £20m.
In addition, Allardyce has reportedly targeted a January move for Watford striker Troy Deeney as he looks to capitalise on the funds promised to him by majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.
The new Everton boss is allegedly willing to part with up to £40million to secure the services of Deeney, who was linked with the Toffees in the summer.
