Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen will undergo a medical at Stoke on Monday after agreeing personal terms with the club on Sunday.
It is understood that the £13million transfer could be finalised in the next 24 hours, allowing Allen to meet up with his new team-mates in the USA on Tuesday.
Allen is thought to be an admirer of Potters boss and fellow Welshman Mark Hughes and is reported to have set his heart on a move to the Britannia Stadium.
Allen’s former club Swansea admitted they are also keen to sign the player, but they are reportedly yet to match Stoke’s offer.
Liverpool had been keen to stick with their £14million valuation after rejecting an opening offer from the Potters last week, however it was reported on Wednesday the Reds have now reached a compromise with their fellow Premier League club.
It’s reported that as part of the deal, Stoke will have to pay a further installment if they secure another top-10 Premier League finish next season.
Allen was a key player for Wales at Euro 2016 and some Liverpool fans will be sorry to see the midfielder leave Anfield, but with only a year left on his contract the transfer is likely to represent good value for money.
