The 27-year-old Irishman’s two-year deal expires in the summer and manager Jim Bentley has made the “tough decision” to let the former Accrington striker go.
Bentley told the club’s official website: “Podge has been great for us and is popular with fans and players alike.
“But it is that time of the year when you have to make really tough decisions and this is certainly one of them.
“He has been a great member of the squad for two years now and I really do wish him well for the future.”
Amond joined the club on a free transfer from Accrington in the summer of 2013 and has scored 21 goals in 90 appearances for the Shrimps.
