Cologne striker Anthony Modeste has joined Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian for a reported transfer fee of €35.7 million.
The 29-year-old striker, who is believed to have turned down a move to Arsenal in 2012, had a terrific season in the Bundesliga last term, scoring 25 goals.
He helped the club back into Europe after 25 years, but he has decided to move on and try his luck in Asia.
The French forward joined Cologne from Hoffenheim in 2015 for a fee of around €4.5million and he was under contract until 2021.
Cologne confirmed in a statement that “all relevant parties have agreed” to the transfer.
“Cologne thanks Tony for his efforts in the Cologne jersey and wishes him all the best for the future.”

The striker was expected to complete a move last month, but the deal fell apart after the two clubs could not agree a fee.
