Harry Redknapp says Arsenal’s victory over Manchester United on Sunday proved they have “every chance” of winning the Premier League title.
The former Tottenham manager tipped the Gunners for glory at the start of the season, but admitted he was having second thoughts on the back of their inconsistent start to the campaign.
But after seeing them blitz Manchester United 3-0 on Sunday, Redknapp believes they are serious contenders to end a 12-year wait for Premier League glory.
After an inconsistent start to the season, Redknapp was ready to write off Arsene Wenger’s side as title contenders.
But having seen them blitz leaders Manchester United on Sunday with three goals inside the opening twenty minutes, he believes they are now serious candidates to finish top of the pile for the first time in 12 years.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Redknapp said: “That first 20 minutes was as good as I have seen. It was mind-blowing. They blew Man United completely away.
“I tipped them at the start of the year [to win the title] and after two or three games I thought I must be mad! But now suddenly you look at it and think, hang on, they are right there.
“They have got a great chance this year if they can find a little bit of consistency.”
