Arsenal-Man City swap deal back on for January

Arsenal could make a fresh move for Raheem Sterling in January, with Alexis Sanchez once again being tipped to move in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

City failed to land Sanchez at the end of the summer transfer window but are expected to return with another offer in January for a player who is out of contract next summer.

And with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger being a huge fan of Sterling, it would appear that some sort of swap deal could be resurrected, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

City chief Pep Guardiola has previously insisted that Sterling, who has started the new season in excellent form, is not for sale but may well consider parting company with the former Liverpool star if it meant he could land his top target Sanchez.

The Chile star, who has also been linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid, could be moved on by Arsenal in January if they decide they want to cash in on the 28-year-old.

As for Sterling, the England star still has two years remaining on his current City contract and there has been no talks over a new deal as yet.
