Santi Cazorla has visited Barcelona for specialist treatment to try and cure his troublesome Achilles injury.
Arsenal midfielder Cazorla has not played for a month due to the injury, after initially aiming to return for the north London derby with Tottenham two weeks ago.
The Spain international has been sent to Barcelona-based Dr Ramon Cugat, who is favoured by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
Cugat has now twice given Cazorla an injection, though the 31-year-old remains unable to train with the Gunners’ first team.
Arsenal struggled without Cazorla at Manchester United on Saturday, but earned praise in our analysis of the 1-1 draw for their mentality in managing to avoid defeat.
