Petr Cech was rated by the media as Arsenal’s best player in their 2-0 win over Bayern Munich, but Aaron Ramsey failed to impress.
Olivier Giroud and Ozil scored late goals as Arsenal kept their Champions League last-16 hopes alive at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night, but it was Cech that impressed the onlooking journalists the most after becoming the first goalkeeper to keep the German champions at so far this season.
The Daily Mirror, Daily Mail and The Times all awarded Cech 8/10, but the Daily Telegraph were even more generous as they gave they Cech goalkeeper a 9/10 and five players – Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez 8/10s.
The Daily Mirror journalist clearly saw something different, awarding Cazorla only 5/10, the joint lowest mark they gave any player, along with Hector Bellerin, who got 7.5/10 in the Daily Mail to further highlight the different ways that different people see games.
Ramsey was rated as the worst of Arsenal’s starters, however, earning an average of only 5.75 from the four sources.
