Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has reportedly rejected Arsenal’s latest contract offer and is set to leave on a free transfer next summer.

The 23-year-old has just one year remaining on his existing contract but has not been given any assurances over his first-team hopes for next season.

The Times claims that the England international was offered a new and improved deal but sees his future elsewhere instead.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has been tracked by Liverpool throughout his contract negotiations, started just 16 Premier League games last season but wants more of a starring role going forward, something that Arsenal are struggling to give him with their multitude of midfield options.

It is thought that Oxlade-Chamberlain is keen on working with Jurgen Klopp at Anfield but it’s reported that Arsenal would prefer to let him leave for nothing in 2018 than sell him to a rival for a minimal fee.
