Real Madrid talent Marco Asensio has reportedly asked for ’emergency talks’ with the club amid interest from Arsenal.
The 21-year-old is looking for clarification regarding his future at the Bernabeu, according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol.
However, they claim the former Espanyol man has no desire to leave the club, and is determined to pen a new deal to extend his stay.
Asensio believes he deserves a pay rise after impressing in his first season under Zinedine Zidane and apparently wants a new deal worth £5.5m-a-year.
Arsenal have interest in the forward, the report claims, but so do Real Madrid’s rivals Barcelona.
Barca boss Ernesto Valverde is plotting an audacious bid to bring the player to the Camp Nou in what would be a transfer reminiscent of Luis Figo’s switch in 2000.
Manchester United and Juventus have been credited with interest, while Liverpool have already had a £42m offer rejected.
