Olivier Giroud: Has played just 12 minutes for Arsenal this season

Olivier Giroud’s agent says the striker would thrive at Napoli amid reports Arsenal are considering a cash-plus-player bid for Gonzalo Higuain.

The Gunners are in the market for a hitman this summer, with their pursuit of Jamie Vardy ending unsuccessfully after the centre-forward signed a new contract with champions Leicester.

Alexandre Lacazette, Karim Benzema and Higuain have all been mentioned as potential targets, with Giroud’s days as Arsenal’s first-choice striker seemingly numbered.

Numerous reports have suggested the Gunners are putting together a £42million package to tempt Napoli into parting with Argentina star Higuain, with Giroud heading to Naples in part-exchange.

Giroud’s agent says such a possibility would hold “no fear” for the France striker, who would succeed in Napoli’s style of play

Mickael Manuello told Radio Crc: “As of today, Giroud is an Arsenal forward. If they were to ask him to leave, then we’d evaluate the situation.

“There would be no fear for Olivier to go to Napoli, as we’re talking about a magnificent place.

“In Naples, my client could have a wonderful lifestyle, not to mention that Maurizio Sarri’s style of football would get the best out of a striker like him.”
