Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind and Bastian Schweinsteiger were rated by the media as Manchester United’s worst three players in their 3-0 defeat at Arsenal.
Alexis Sanchez was the star of the show for Arsenal, scoring two, with Theo Walcott’s performance also rated highly by The Independent, Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph and The Times.
Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla also impressed the media, but Anthony Martial was the only United player to score an average rating of more than 6/10, the lowest average achieved by an Arsenal player – Aaron Ramsey.
Darmian, substituted at half-time by Louis van Gaal, was awarded two marks of 3/10 and two of 4/10 for his efforts, while Blind and Schweinsteiger both got two 4s and two 5s each.
Ashley Young and Memphis Depay did not fare much better with one 4/10 and three 5/10s, but in truth there was little credit any visiting player could take as Arsene Wenger’s side laid down a marker in the race for the Premier League title.
