Roma have asked to take Wojciech Szczesny for another season and will pay the Poland keeper’s full wages, according to reports.
Szczesny understandably has no interest in returning to Arsenal and vying with David Ospina for a place on the bench behind Petr Cech.
According to the Daily Mail, ‘Arsenal want a loan fee for Szczesny before agreeing to the move’.
The Poland keeper swerved questions about his where he will play next season when he spoke to the media this week.
“Right now I’m not thinking about my future,” Szczesny said.
“My team-mates and I are focused exclusively on the Euros.
“I hope to achieve a good result with Poland.
“I’ll only think about other things once the tournament is over.”
Before leaving for France with his national team, Szczesny said: “Everyone knows I’m really happy [at Roma]. I’d like to be able to tell you about my future, but I don’t know what it holds for me.
“I’ve expressed my intentions to the two clubs and now it’s up to them. I have to decide what’s best for my career.”
