Championship side Aston Villa are expected to complete the signing of John Terry within the next 24 hours.
Negotiations are said to have progressed well with the former Chelsea star, with only a couple of minor contractual issues to iron out.
Sky sources claim that Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp has given up hope of landing the 36-year-old leaving the way clear for midlands rivals Villa.
Terry posted images of a golf outing with Villa boss Steve Bruce last month, as well as videos of him working out with Bruce’s son Alex.
The former England captain has also had offers to remain in the Premier League, with West Brom, Swansea and Bournemouth all said to have shown an interest, but it is understood that Terry did not want to play against Chelsea.
