Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo believes Antoine Griezmann will remain for “a long time” amid interest from Manchester United.

According to widespread reports, Manchester United are prepared to spend a world-record fee to bring the Atletico Madrid forward to Old Trafford this summer.

And, in addition, The Telegraph believe the Red Devils are continuing to work hard on the deal throughout the January transfer window as Diego Simeone admitted that it came as no surprise to see the French international linked with a move away.

However, president Cerezo has adopted a much tougher stance on the ongoing transfer saga and appears more than willing to ward off United’s strong advances.

“I don’t know what the interest from Manchester [United] will be,” he told television show Minuto #0.

“I can say that Griezmann will be an Atletico player for a long time.”

Griezmann has been quoted as saying it would “awesome” to play alongside Pogba at club level as well as having some complimentary words for United.
